Blackpool boss Ian Evatt has hinted an announcement on Franco Ravizzoli could come in due course amid Leicester City interest. The 29-year-old goalkeeper was left out of the Carabao Cup win at Grimsby, where Bailey Peacock-Farrell started.

According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, Ravizzoli has been linked with Leicester in recent weeks. The former River Plate academy No.1 previously worked with Russell Martin at MK Dons.

City are likely to add another goalkeeper before the transfer window closes after Fran Vieites’ contract was mutually terminated on Saturday. The Spaniard made no competitive appearances after signing last September.

Ravizzoli joined the Tangerines last summer after two seasons with Wycombe Wanderers, and he made just eight League One appearances.

“At the moment it was the right thing to do for the club and player,” Evatt said. “That’s as much as I’ll say on it at the moment. We didn’t feel the need to involve him today.”

“We’ll always try to make the right decisions for the football club, so I’m guessing there’ll be an announcement in due course.”
