As was the case last year, Paris Saint-Germain’s summer transfer window is unlikely to be the most extravagant in Europe. Having recently won their second consecutive Champions League title, the capital club’s management has no intention of making major changes to their squad. Which, however, will not prevent a few transfers.
The case of Ibrahim Mbaye (18) is a perfect example. Under contract with PSG until 2028, the striker is seen internally as a player who could break through at any moment. His performances at the recent Africa Cup of Nations, in particular, have really brought this into sharp relief. Nevertheless, the limited playing time he was given in the second half of the season by Luis Enrique raises questions.
Does this mean a move is on the cards? Anything is possible. Not least because, according to RMC Sport, the Senegalese player is being courted. And whilst the identities of the interested clubs have not been revealed, it does not seem impossible to imagine Mbaye heading to the Premier League, given that his name has been linked with Aston Villa, the recent Europa League winners.
