According to Le Progres, Saint-Étienne have loaned Igor Miladinovic to Partizan Belgrade for the rest of the season, with an option to buy confirmed on Monday evening.
Two years on from his arrival, the gamble has not come off for the Verts.
On joining in early August 2024, Olivier Dall’Oglio did not consider him ready for Ligue 1. He was limited to three brief cameos at first. The arrival of Norwegian coach Eirik Horneland brought more opportunities, taking his tally to 33 appearances, two goals and one assist.
By late January 2025 Horneland stopped selecting him, and a departure was considered for the following summer.
Left out at the end of the window while he searched in vain for a club, the then 22-year-old impressed at Clermont in a 2-1 win and provided assurances through autumn 2025. His momentum stalled after a red card at Annecy in a 4-0 defeat on 25 October.
This summer the Saint-Étienne hierarchy acted decisively. The Partizan move returns him to Serbia and to a club of different calibre to FK Cukaricki, where he learned his trade before signing for ASSE.
