Igor Thiago scored a hat-trick as Brentford enjoyed a 4-2 win at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

It took just over 10 minutes for the visitors to take the lead when Vitaly Janelt floated a ball in from the left with Igor Thiago free in the area to finish from close range.

Both sides had chances before the break but with 95 second-half seconds Brentford went from one goal ahead to 3-0.

The second of the evening came from a corner with Janelt again providing the delivery and Nathan Collins heading home. Before Everton had picked themselves up they were further behind with Igor Thiago this time picking the ball up from Kevin Schade before slotting it past Jordan Pickford in the 51st minute.

Everton pulled one back when second-half substitute Beto nodded in Jack Grealish's cross from the left.

However with the Toffees chasing a second Brentford were able to score a fourth in the 87th minute to essentially seal the victory. Igor Thiago found himself alone in the Everton half and kept his cool before lifting the ball over Pickford for his hat-trick.

There was still time for one more goal though, even if there weren't many home fans left in the ground to see a stoppage-time Thierno Barry header ensure the game finished 4-2.

It was a difficult afternoon for David Moyes' side but another excellent performance from Brentford with their Brazilian talisman now on 15 goals in all competitions this season.
