Juventus manager Igor Tudor is hoping to revive his collaboration with Lazio full-back Nuno Tavares whose future remains far from certain.
The Portuguese star was one of three players nominated for the Best Serie A Defender Award at the end of the 2024/25 campaign thanks to his sensational first half of the season when he was producing assists for fun. However, he has been impeded by never-ending injury problems over the past few months, which completely wrecked his momentum.

In recent days, Lazio confirmed buying Tavares outright from Arsenal, but his future in the Italian capital remains anyone’s guess, especially following the return of Maurizio Sarri who might be seeking a more defensively sound left-back.
In the meantime, several suitors have emerged asking about Tavares’ availability. Al-Hilal even submitted a concrete bid of €25m plus €5m, but was deemed too low by Claudio Lotito. The Lazio patron is only willing to consider offers beginning from €40 million, given that 40% of the transfer fee will be claimed by Arsenal.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Tudor has asked Juventus to reunite him with Tavares whom he considers the ideal left wingback in his 3-4-2-1 system.
The two men didn’t have the opportunity to work together at Lazio, as the Croatian manager had left his post shortly before the Portuguese’s arrival last summer. Nevertheless, they enjoyed a prosperous collaboration during their solitary year in Marseille back in the 2022/23 campaign, with the 25-year-old scoring six goals in 33 Ligue 1 appearances.
While striking an agreement with Lazio won’t be easy for the Bianconeri, their new management will try to open a dialogue with Lotito and Angelo Fabiani in the hopes of finding some common ground.
