Ilenikhena was born in Lagos, Nigeria, on August 16, 2006, and has French citizenship as well. He scored 14 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions this season, including one against Barcelona in the Champions League group stage, and he became the second-youngest scorer in the competition after Ansu Fati.

Ilenikhena has played under Mark Van Bommel this season, and the Dutch coach is among the candidates to replace Stefano Pioli at Milan next season, so the pair may reunite in the next Derby della Madonnina in 2024-25.

According to Gazzetta, Inter’s priority remains to sign Albert Gudmundsson from Genoa this summer, but Ilenikhena, who is also monitored by many other top clubs in Europe, remains an option for the fresh Serie A champions.
