İlkay Gündoğan’s wife sends message to Barcelona after Man City return | OneFootball

The wife of departed Barcelona star İlkay Gündoğan has on Friday taken to social media, to send a message to the Blaugrana.

The name of midfielder Gündoğan, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines across Spain and England alike over the course of the day to date.

This comes after the German international’s hotly-anticipated Barcelona exit was made official.

After word was forthcoming earlier in the week that Gündoğan had been deemed expendable amid efforts on the part of the Camp Nou brass to cut their wage bill, the 33-year-old quickly opened talks with Premier League champions Manchester City over an Etihad return.

And it did not take at all long for such discussions to bear fruit, with City having announced Gündoğan’s signing earlier this afternoon:

Such news has since been followed by an outpouring of messages on the part of the Barcelona faithful, eager to wish the midfield creator the best of luck moving forward.

And, a short time ago, a similar message was sent in the opposite direction, by none other than Gündoğan’s wife.

Taking to her official Instagram account, Sara Gündoğan wrote:

‘Wishing Barca fans all the best for the future’
