Ilyas Kherbouch, known as Ganito, has been jailed for nine years for commissioning the violent home invasion of former PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and his partner in July 2023.

According to Le Progres, the Paris court imposed the term on Friday night, with continued detention. Prosecutors had sought 10 years, saying he ordered the raid from his cell. Co-accused Khyan M., 22, was acquitted.

On 21 July 2023, the couple were dragged from bed and tied up in their Paris flat. Donnarumma was beaten with armoured gloves until he bled, while his pregnant partner, Alessia Elefante, was strangled with a phone-charger cable.

Seven men, some still unidentified, escaped within minutes with cash, jewellery, watches and luxury bags worth just under €1 million. The attack happened on avenue Montaigne in western Paris, an area increasingly targeted by younger offenders, with seven celebrities hit between 2022 and 2025. The pair were implicated in at least two of those cases.

The case also counted two collateral deaths. Elefante miscarried soon after, an outcome attributed to the shock that night, and a man present during the raid killed himself in prison on 10 May 2024 after being threatened as an informant.

Moktar D., the lookout and childhood friend of the only defendant present that night on avenue Montaigne, received five years, including two years suspended with probation.

Kherbouch later drew notoriety for escaping Villepinte prison in March. He denies orchestrating the burglary, insisting messages and videos recovered from phones he used in custody were also used by others.
