Former Arsenal star Theo Walcott has given his prediction for Chelsea vs Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

Chelsea welcome Liverpool to west London looking to avoid losing three consecutive Premier League games after back to back losses against Manchester United and Brighton.

Liverpool sit top with five wins from their opening six games, but have lost their last two games in all competitions, with Arne Slot struggling to find the right balance with all the new signings.

Theo Walcott gives Chelsea vs Liverpool prediction

The pressure has started to grow on Enzo Maresca after some difficult results in recent weeks, and a win on Saturday would help alleviate some of that.

Chelsea are reportedly going to be without eight players, and Maresca confirmed he’s set to have a meeting with the medical staff about Cole Palmer next week.

Liverpool are without number one goalkeeper Alisson, and both teams have shown signs of vulnerability at the start of the season.

Alan Shearer believes Chelsea have enough to get a draw, and Walcott has now given his prediction for the big game.

“2-0. 2-0 to Liverpool. I’m going 2-0,” he told It’s Called Soccer.

A defeat for Chelsea would leave them on just eight points from a possible 21 and a lot for Maresca to ponder over the international break.

Enzo Maresca to be assessed at the end of the season

There has been talk in recent weeks about Maresca’s future, but reportedly the Blues aren’t considering making a change anytime soon.

Maresca is said to retain the full backing of the Chelsea hierarchy, and he’s set to be assessed at the end of the season.
