PSG head coach Luis Enrique remains confident in Les Parisiens before their season-defining Champions League semi-finals against Arsenal. The first leg will be played on Tuesday at London’s Emirates Stadium. Unfortunately for the Ligue 1 champions, the general rehearsal has gone badly wrong. PSG hosted Nice on Friday night at Parc des Princes and they suffered their first domestic defeat of the season (1-3). A brace from Morgan Sanson and a header from Youssouf Ndayishimiye broke PSG’s hopes of an unbeaten Ligue 1 campaign.

Nice were also grateful they had Marcin Bulka between the sticks. The Pole has been immense, pulling off strong saves to repel PSG. “I’m not worried at all”, Luis Enrique said in his post-game presser. “We attacked, didn’t calculate, and we came up against a goalkeeper who made some incredible saves.” PSG were so dominant against Les Aiglons that the Spaniard even said he would be pleased to see his players reiterate a similar performance on Tuesday, but with a different result, obviously. “I saw a team with 30 goal-scoring opportunities (…) We deserved to win, no doubt about it. But if the opponent is 100 % clinical and you’re not as clinical as usual, things turn around. It’s as simple as that.”

Luis Enrique was also quizzed on his team selection against Nice. Indeed, PSG went very strong against Franck Haise’s side, with a starting XI that is not expected to change for Tuesday. “Make of that what you will. I’m not giving anything to Mikel”, Arteta’s fellow countryman concluded.
