Cole Palmer revealed he’s still finding out how to deal with his groin injury, and admitted he doesn’t feel like he’s played one game fully fit this season.

Palmer has been plagued by a groin injury, which caused him to miss virtually the entire first half of the season, and he returned against Leeds in December.

The 23-year-old has struggled for form since coming back, but put in his best performance against Wolves since returning.

Cole Palmer opens up on his injury

The England international returned to the starting line-up after being on the bench against Arsenal in midweek, and started on the right hand side.

Palmer bagged a first half hat-trick, which included two penalties, and a brilliant finish from a well worked team move.

At times Palmer has looked like he’s struggled on the pitch, and he opened up on his injury and the issues it’s caused him.

“I’ve never been injured before in my career, this is something new to me, and I’m still finding out how to deal with it,” he told Chelsea’s website.

“It has been frustrating, I don’t feel like I’ve played a game this season fully fit.

“I’ve been going into games thinking, “Can I do certain things? Can I not?” Overthinking it.

“The staff have been really good. I’ve been working closely with the physios on a day-to-day basis. They have all helped, and I’ll get through it.

“I’m not here to make excuses, and I’ll get over the injuries. I know what I can do when I’m fit, and hopefully I can get back to that soon. For now, I just manage it and get there.”

Joao Pedro impresses once again

Whilst Palmer stole the headlines, Joao Pedro put in another impressive performance, as his good form under Liam Rosenior continued.

Pedro won both penalties, and impressed with both his link up and hold up play, and has very much established himself as Chelsea’s first choice number nine.

Palmer revealed after the game how much he enjoys playing with Pedro, and hopefully we will see their on pitch relationship get even better.
