This has hurt the team, who are now up against the possibility of relegation to League One by the end of the campaign.

Henrik Pedersen’s side are struggling for form on the pitch, and have not been helped by matters off the pitch whatsoever.

The Owls are growing a big list of sanctions from the EFL, which is reportedly going to lead to a points deduction at some point in the near future.

The club have not yet gone into administration, but the threat of that also looms in the background, which could bring with it a points deduction of its own.

Owner Dejphon Chansiri has faced immense pressure from supporters to sell his stake in the Yorkshire outfit, but he has yet to agree to any takeover.

It has been reported that Sheffield Wednesday are currently under embargo from signing new players for five different reasons.

The club owe money to other teams, HMRC and other creditors, along with now also needing to pay their players and staff for September.

It remains to be seen when any possible points deduction will be handed to the Championship side, but it is sure to put a huge dent in their hopes of survival against relegation.

Sheffield Wednesday supporters are growing increasingly frustrated with the situation involving the owner, and it’s hard to blame them.

It’s maddening that Chansiri continues to cling onto the club despite there being parties interested in purchasing his stake.

It’s clear that he lacks the finances and capability to continue running the Yorkshire outfit, and someone is needed to take over.

While it’s unlikely that anything will happen now that can salvage Sheffield Wednesday’s season, the sooner that the ownership can change hands the better, so that there can be hope that the next campaign can be the start of a period of optimism for the fans.
