Thomas Tuchel has said he is concerned about England's options at right-back after Jarell Quansah picked up an ankle issue against Panama.

England booked a Round of 32 clash against DR Congo by beating Panama 2-0 on Saturday night, courtesy of goals from Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane.

However, the result was marred by an injury to Quansah, who suffered an ankle injury and was withdrawn just after the hour. The Bayer Leverkusen defender was deputising forReece James, who sustained a hamstring injury against Ghana and could miss the rest of the tournament.

The injuries to Quansah and James follow Tino Livramento's withdrawal from theWorld Cup squad before the tournament.

Tuchel's squad selection has been criticised, with Real Madrid right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold a notable exclusion from the group.

Djed Spence offers an option at right-back, while Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah was called up as Livramento's replacement, despite featuring primarily in central defence.

Asked if he is now concerned about the right-back position as England enter the knockout rounds, Tuchel said: "Naturally! We have another injury in the position. It will be a tight race for Reece James and it will be a very tight race for Jarell Quansah. I'm worried about these two. But it's our job to find solutions."

Asked further about the extent of Quansah's issue, Tuchel added: "He's in pain. He said he had it before and it was a matter of days. He hopes it stays like this but at the moment it's just too painful.
