It is certainly no secret that Inter Milan and Napoli are keen to sign striker Jonathan David this summer.

The Canadian international is available on a free transfer after his contract with Lille expires.

David has confirmed that he will be on his way after five seasons with the French club.

Inter Milan have already made their offer to David. They have put around €5-6 million net per season on the table in terms of wages.

That is not as high as the Canadian is hoping for. However, the Nerazzurri have made it clear that there offer is take-it-or-leave-it.

Meanwhile, Napoli are also set to rival Inter for David’s signature.

The Partenopei have recently met with the 25-year-old’s representatives to sound out a move.

According to Tuttosport, Inter or Napoli could potentially find an agreement with Jonathan David on wages.

This would be for around €6.5 million net per season, the newspaper anticipates.

However, there would be other matters which could potentially make signing Jonathan David tricky.

The first would be the player’s image rights.

Tuttosport report that the Canadian international is keen to retain control of a significant degree of his image rights. And that is not something that Inter or Napoli would be terribly happy to offer.

Meanwhile, the newspaper notes, Jonathan David wants to insert a relatively low release clause in his contract.

However, Inter and Napoli do not want such a clause to be in any deal for the 25-year-old.
