‘Imminent, very close’ – Barcelona on the verge of big-money summer signing | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona are at last on the verge of wrapping up a deal for the club’s chief summer transfer target.

That’s according to a whole host of sources across the Spanish media, who point towards Nico Williams as the player in question.

Wide-man Nico has of course been hotly tipped to take his talents to the Camp Nou for several weeks now.

This comes with the 22-year-old, fresh off a scintillating campaign with Spain at Euro 2024, having been identified as the missing piece in the Blaugrana’s attacking ranks.

Negotiations between the parties, in turn, have long been ongoing, to reach an agreement on the terms of a long-term contract.

As much comes with a view to Barca activating the release clause in Nico’s Athletic Club contract.

And, as alluded to above, on Friday, the efforts of Deco and co, it would appear, are finally set to bear fruit.

After Sport first revealed that optimism is growing in the Blaugrana camp regarding an ‘imminent’ answer from the Spaniard, El Chiringuito TV have on Friday afternoon gone a step further:

‘Nico Williams is very close to signing for Barca,’ it is assured.
