Graham Potter is set to instruct the club to secure a permanent signing this summer.

The new Head Coach is understood to be impressed with Carlos Soler, who is currently on a season-long loan from French giants Paris Saint Germain.

Although the midfielder suffered a somewhat slow start to life in east London under former boss Julen Lopetegui, it appears his performances in recent weeks and especially under Potter are pointing towards a permanent offer once the season concludes.

Soler played a pivotal role in the recent victory over Fulham, with a sublime finish to put the Hammers ahead from long range, which has Potter wanting to have the Spanish international part of his longer term plans at West Ham.

It’s not yet known whether the club will look to strike a deal with PSG prior to season end, however it’s unlikely to be in January with the focus on striker recruitment at present. However, a move to secure Soler after the transfer window cannot be ruled out.
