Krzysztof Piątek is in the midst of a great patch of form for Al Duhail in the Qatar Stars League, which has seen him get 4 goals in 6 games for the club he signed for just this summer. However, what Piątek is most remembered for are his stints at Genoa and Milan, the former being a massive success and the latter much more mixed. In an interview to Flashscore, Piątek addressed a number of things, including his stint at Milan and what he felt went wrong. He also spoke about former Milan teammates such as Lucas Paqueta and Gigio Donnarumma who have gone on to reach higher highs and Piątek was very gracious in his compliments to both players. About Milan, he reiterated that playing for the Rossoneri was his dream and he only looks back at the memories fondly of playing for the club, despite it not ending too well. On being asked how he reflects on his time at the club, “Definitely only in a positive way, because it’s a dream club. I’ve always been a Milan fan, and being able to wear their shirt and play at San Siro has been a dream since I was a child. I’ll always have wonderful memories of that period, never negative ones. Even though there were some bad moments, in the end, I’ll always remember that period as the best of my career because I played for the club I wanted since I was a kid, and I can’t speak badly of it,” the Polish international said. “Of course, the ending could have gone differently; perhaps I could have reacted better, because I was young and didn’t have much experience. The club could have made different choices, too; that’s how it went. It’s the past, and I can only speak well of Milan because it’s a great club.”
