The 2026 summer transfer window has come to an end, a sigh of relief for Chelsea after a hectic couple of months.

Chelsea have backed new manager Xabi Alonso with Premier League-proven quality and experience, as well as profiles from abroad suited to Alonso's style of play.

It saw the Blues break their club record to sign Morgan Rogers for £117 million from Aston Villa. Maxence Lacroix was signed from Crystal Palace in a £52m deal, added to the defence with the arrival of Marco Palestra from Atalanta for £47m, including add-ons and Pep Chavarria joining from Rayo Vallecano for around £18m, inclusive of add-ons.

Experience was added with the acquisitions of Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson, while the goalkeeper position was strengthened with the £7.5m signing of Emiliano Martinez.

Geovany Quenda, Emmanuel Emegha and Valentin Barco all signed for Chelsea after pre-agreements were in place for the trio. A deal for Atalanta's Honest Ahanor, who will play for Crystal Palace in 2026-27, has been agreed for the 18-year-old to join in a £40m deal next summer.

With all the incomings, it required outgoings; Chelsea saved their biggest till last. Enzo Fernandez put an end to a summer-long transfer saga, getting his wish of moving to Manchester City granted and reuniting with Enzo Maresca, after the Blues accepted a bid of £125m, matching the British-record fee for Alexander Isak's move to Liverpool last summer.

Despite working to replace Fernandez, Chelsea's proposed €55m deal for Lamine Camara collapsed at the final hour with AS Monaco, who pulled the plug on the transfer. After failing to bring in another midfielder, Chelsea believe they have a strong squad.

Chelsea also recouped big fees for Nicolas Jackson (£65m), Liam Delap (£50m), Andrey Santos (£50m), Marc Cucurella (£51.8m) and Tyrique George (£24m) - all figures including add-ons. Trevoh Chalobah was also sold to Como in a deal worth in the region of £30m.

Alonso's side have banked over £425m in sales, a record for the Blues in a single transfer window. They've also managed to loan out several players, including Mykhailo Mudryk to Tottenham, Reggie Walsh to Wigan Athletic, and Mamadou Sarr to Real Sociedad.
