Kylian Mbappe has largely headlined Real Madrid’s season so far and the Frenchman’s fine form in front of goal has been one of the pillars in Los Blancos’ attacking department.
The 26-year-old already has eight league goals to his name and a further five in the UEFA Champions League, making him one of the world’s most in-form players. Furthermore, he even has an assist to his name in La Liga.
Mbappe’s fine record, however, would not be possible without serious contributions from his teammates that help him attack the goal relentlessly. Arda Guler, on that front, has been instrumental.
Guler and Mbappe have struck a golden partnership for Real Madrid so far this season and Xabi Alonso has every reason to believe it is the catalyst in Real Madrid’s attack.
Mbappe’s 13 goals coupled with Guler’s three, for starters, comprise 69.6% of Real Madrid’s goals across all competitions and their partnership with each other has directly led to five goals so far.

Guler has assisted the French winger four times so far this season – one each against Real Oviedo, Levante, Atletico Madrid and Kairat Almaty. Mbappe, in turn, returned the favour by assisting the young Turk against Real Sociedad.
Guler has passed the ball to Mbappe 50 times so far this season, making the French star the player he connects with most often on the field. Seven of them ended up in direct shots and four in goal.
In essence, the midfielder averages an assist to Mbappe every 161.5 minutes this season and provides him with a pass every 13 minutes on average.
Given that the average contribution of Guler to Mbappe in terms of assists over the past two seasons is one every 286 minutes, it is clear that there has been a serious improvement from last season.
