Aston Villa are now racing against the clock to get Nicolas Jackson registered in time for him to face Arsenal on Monday night, according to journalist Matt Law.
Villa recently thrashed out an agreement with Chelsea for Jackson, who then travelled to the Midlands on Thursday to undergo his medical.
The Senegal striker has been a key target for Unai Emery this summer, with the Spanish boss having had him under his wing in La Liga at Villarreal.
There was interest in Jackson from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, but Aston Villa were able to see it off, amid both sides agreeing personal terms with the striker.
Now Aston Villa have put Jackson through his medical and are trying to finalise the agreement by signing off on the final details relating to his registration.

They are racing to get it done in time so that he can be available to feature against Arsenal this Monday night.
Villa have until midday to get the relevant documents in and logged within the registration system.
For Emery, having Jackson at his disposal for the Arsenal game would be a massive boost and the club are trying to deliver for the Spaniard.
Aston Villa continue to work hard on other deals in the market, with the next few days expected to be busy at Villa Park.

Adding another centre-back is on the agenda, while work continues to snap up attacker Rafael Leao from AC Milan.
Galatasaray are fighting hard for Leao, but Emery has become personally involved and discussions with the Portuguese have tilted him towards Aston Villa.
