Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has moved to reveal his appreciation for the most recent efforts of a leading member of the club’s midfield ranks.
The player in question? Pedri.
Spanish international Pedri was for his part afforded his latest starting berth on Saturday, as Barcelona welcomed Atlético Madrid to Catalunya’s capital for a top-of-the-table La Liga showdown.
And though the Blaugrana, as a collective, were ultimately put to the sword by two goals to one, the 22-year-old nevertheless dazzled.
Flawless in his dribbling, pinpoint in his passing and with a goal to show for his endeavours, too, Pedri was without question the hosts’ standout performer at Montjuïc.
And one individual on whom such excellence was not at all lost was the aforementioned Hansi Flick.
Speaking to the media in the aftermath of another alarming result for his side, Barcelona’s headmaster was sure to single Pedri out for some well-earned praise:
“Let me spare a few words for Pedri. He’s a super professional. He trains a lot, takes a lot of care. The way he played was incredible. That’s how I like to see him and how he guides the rest.”
