Jim Ratcliffe is said to have reduced his asking price for OGC Nice to hasten a sale, according to Bloomberg.

Nice have begun to stabilise on the pitch, drawing 1-1 with Strasbourg on 3 January then progressing to the Coupe de France last 16 on Sunday.

The club now has new leadership in Jean-Pierre Rivère and Maurice Cohen, a new head coach in Claude Puel and a new striker, Elye Wahi. Its long-term direction remains uncertain.

Ratcliffe, the Ineos chief, bought Nice in August 2019, and last year engaged Lazard to seek buyers.

He had been seeking more than 200 million, the report said, but prospective purchasers were reluctant to pay that figure and the price has since fallen sharply.

No new valuation was disclosed, and the report added that Ratcliffe is losing money each year at Nice.
