Riccardo Calafiori is back in training following his injury setback last week, and a few other Arsenal absentees appear to be no cause for concern.

Arsenal suffered a double setback at the weekend, with Ben White and Riccardo Calafiori both leaving the pitch with injuries against West Ham United.

But whilst White has since been ruled out for the season, Calafiori’s situation looks a lot more positive.

The left-back was spotted in training on Thursday, so assuming he came through the session without having a setback, he should be in good shape to return to the team for Arsenal’s match against Burnley on Monday.

Those in attendance for the training session at London Colney also report that Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, and Martin Odegaard were absent, but this was reportedly just because they were doing some individual sessions indoors.

This is reportedly nothing out of the ordinary, given the match isn’t for another few days, and there are no reports of new injuries for the trio.

Mikel Merino and Jurrien Timber continue to work on their long-term injuries, with the hope that they’ll be back at some point during these final three matches.

Mikel Arteta had suggested in his press conference on Thursday morning that Calafiori was a doubt for Burnley, saying: “We don’t know whether he’s going to be available. We still have days ahead. Hopefully, it’s nothing serious. We’ll have to wait and see how he reacts.”

Calafiori’s subsequent involvement in training is a boost, but as Arteta mentions, Arsenal will have to see how his body reacts to taking part in the session.
