This time around, however, they are struggling due to several injuries that have come through during the dreaded international break. Now a usual case of worry for the Catalan giants, these international breaks often lead to untimely injuries for the club to deal with.

Ronald Araujo’s injury in July remains a great example of this. Despite being one of the Barcelona captains and a mainstay for the team, the Uruguayan defender currently remains out of action and is yet to even feature for Hansi Flick in this new-look team that the German coach is leading.

Fortunately, however, it seems that the South American defender is edging closer and closer to a potential return. As highlighted by SPORT in the latest update on his injury, the player is set to return to Barcelona on Friday and the club already has a return date in mind for him as well moving forward.

Following his surgery in Finland, done by the same specialist who worked on the surgeries for Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto in the past, the player has mainly stayed back home in Uruguayan and continued his recovery without providing too many updates on social media either.

However, he is now set to return to Barcelona in the coming days and will begin his rehabilitation with the club’s physiotherapists in the Ciutat Esportiva starting next week. At the moment, the club continues to have patience with the player and the expectation is that he will return to action by late November.

Typically, the kind of surgery that Ronald Araujo underwent takes around 4 months to heal and allow the player to resume normal sporting activities. Having been injured in early July, the player has had some time off but there is still some way left to go before Barcelona fans can see him back in action.

Flick himself, moreover, would be eagerly awaiting the return of the defender. For the kind of football that the German coach likes to play, the Barcelona defender would fit in like a glove and provides the ideal profile that the former Bayern Munich coach would love to have in his team.
