According to a report from Luis Rojo of MARCA, it has been learned that Barcelona forward Raphinha is unlikely to feature in the upcoming La Liga clash against Girona, which will take place immediately after the current international break.
The journalist mentions that the Brazilian remains doubtful as his recovery is progressing slower than expected.
On the brighter side, the same report provides encouraging news about Fermin Lopez, who is recovering well from the muscle injury he suffered in his left leg.
As reported before, the young midfielder is expected to be fully fit in time for the Girona match and is likely to make his return to action, giving Hansi Flick a much-needed boost in midfield options.
As for Raphinha, the situation is a bit more complicated. Notably, the winger picked up a hamstring injury on September 25th during Barcelona’s clash with Real Oviedo.
The injury, suffered in his right thigh, initially required around three weeks of recovery time.

That timeline officially ends on October 16th, just two days before the Girona match, but the club’s medical staff is in no rush to force his return.
It must be understood that manager Hansi Flick has always prioritised player safety and has made it clear that he won’t risk aggravating an injury, especially for a player as physically explosive as Raphinha.
The Brazilian’s intensity is key to his style of play, and bringing him back too early could lead to a relapse, something the team wants to avoid at all costs.
Given Barcelona’s upcoming fixtures, the decision to rest him makes perfect sense.
After Girona, Barça will face Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League and then Real Madrid in a high-stakes El Clasico that could heavily influence the La Liga title race.
Flick wants Raphinha fully fit for those decisive encounters, rather than risking a setback now.
With several days still remaining before the Girona clash, there is a slim chance of a late recovery, but all indications from within the club suggest that Raphinha will sit this one out to ensure he returns in top condition for the crucial matches ahead.
