Injured FC Porto players spent their day off working on rehabilitation at Olival. According to O Jogo, Alberto Costa, Bednarek, André Miranda, Vasco Sousa and Samu chose to continue treatment rather than rest.

As of Thursday, all were training on modified programmes, though at different stages.

Vasco Sousa and Samu are not in contention for Sunday’s league opener.

Alberto Costa is viewed as the likeliest to face Alverca, while Bednarek’s knee problem makes his case more delicate.

André Miranda has been sidelined since March, and head coach Francesco Farioli, who will not take risks so early in the season, could provide clarity in Saturday’s press conference from 12.45.
