Injury Round-Up Ahead of the Return of Serie A

The third international break was more benign to Serie A sides than the previous ones, as Napoli star Frank Anguissa was the only one who suffered a serious injury. A few players previously on the shelf have recovered, but not all of them.

Denzel Dumfries picked up an ankle sprain with the Netherlands and is poised to miss the Derby, Sky reports. Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Matteo Darmian will remain sidelined due to muscular problems. Milan will recover Adrien Rabiot after a month, but probably not Santiago Gimenez.

Juventus have lost Daniele Rugani for three to four weeks due to a calf strain, but Lloyd Kelly and Juan Cabal are back available. Gleison Bremer is targeting early December for his return from a meniscus tear. Dusan Vlahovic is nursing some muscle fatigue after international duties, but he’s trending in the right direction and will at least be an option. Moise Kean has shaken off his lower leg injury, while Robin Gosens stays on the mend.

Elsewhere in Serie A, Roma will welcome back Evan Ferguson, who’ll likely lead their attack since Paulo Dybala and Artem Dovbyk are dealing with thigh problems. Leon Baily and Angelino are improving but might need more time.

Lazio’s Nicolò Rovella underwent surgery to address a groin injury and will be out of commission for about six weeks. Nuno Tavares will return from a calf lesion, while Taty Castellanos and Matteo Cancellieri keep rehabbing their thigh ones. Como’s Assane Diao will skip a pair of matches because of a similar problem.

Bologna have been hit the worst, as Nicolò Cambiaghi and Emil Holm suffered muscular injuries on international duties, while Lukas Skorupski and Jonathan Rowe got hurt in the last round.
