Real Madrid secured a nervy 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid last night in the Spanish Super Cup semifinal to set up a date with FC Barcelona in the finals on Sunday.

However, despite the victory, Los Blancos were left with a bitter taste as three of their players ended the match with physical problems.

Indeed, Antonio Rudiger, Raul Asencio, and Rodrygo Goes all finished with issues and had since been deemed as doubts for the Clasico finale in Jeddah.

Asencio fit, Rodrygo, Rudiger doubts

Now, Miguel Angel Diaz of COPE has come forward with the latest update on the conditions of the Real Madrid trio after tests were carried out on them.

As per the report, Asencio has no injury, and as such, is fit and ready to play in the final against Barcelona on Sunday.

This will come as a relief for Xabi Alonso as he can field the defensive pair of Asencio and Dean Huijsen and not look for makeshift solutions.

On the flipside, though, Rudiger is once again a doubt for the match, much like he was for the semifinal when he was dealing with discomfort but decided to push through and play.

As for Rodrygo, the Brazilian international is also dealing with some hamstring discomfort, casting uncertainty over his readiness for Sunday’s final in Saudi Arabia.

The report states that the forward will undergo more tests tomorrow to assess if he is in a condition to play.

So, as things stand, Asencio is fit and ready to go, but Rudiger is seen as a major doubt while Rodrygo’s participation will depend on tests conducted tomorrow.

Amidst all this, Real Madrid will welcome Kylian Mbappe to the squad, with the French superstar on his way to Saudi Arabia having worked hard on his recovery. A decision on whether he is in a position to start in the final will also be made tomorrow.
