Instituto have lodged a formal complaint with the AFA against San Lorenzo over unpaid sums from Malcom Braida’s move to Boca, a deal completed midway through last year.

According to LaNumer12.com.ar, Boca paid one point eight million dollars in June 2025 at the request of Miguel Ángel Russo during the Club World Cup build-up. Instituto say the money due from San Lorenzo has not reached Córdoba.

A 2022 agreement gave San Lorenzo all federative rights, while Instituto retained a share of the economic rights. After San Lorenzo later bought another 20%, Instituto kept 30% of the player, which is now at the centre of the dispute.

On that fee, Instituto, led by president Juan Cavagliatto, are seeking 540,000 dollars gross, subject to taxes and bonuses. They have pursued the administrative route after what they describe as a lack of response from San Lorenzo, and say lawyers are due to meet.

The alleged breach sits against a backdrop of turmoil at San Lorenzo following Marcelo Moretti’s exit, with finances being reorganised. Braida remains in pre-season with Boca under Claudio Úbeda and his contract is unaffected.

Boca are also negotiating for Alexis Cuello for the coming season. The club are understood to be ready to offer around three million dollars for 60% of his rights, while Almagro hold the remaining 40% and their president has said they will seek two million dollars.
