Inter Milan boss Cristian Chivu lost yet another high-stakes game in charge of the Nerazzurri as Arsenal thumped his side 3-1 at San Siro last night.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the Gunners set the bar too high for Chivu’s team, condemning them to a third successive European defeat.

In addition to losing three consecutive Champions League games for the first time in 15 years, Inter have significantly compromised their top eight chances.

With only one game left in the newly formatted league phase, the Nerazzurri must beat Borussia Dortmund on the final day to stay in the running.

However, that could prove easier said than done after another ‘big game’ fiasco.

Cristian Chivu has been terminally unable to prevail in high-profile matches since replacing Simone Inzaghi at the helm.

Unfortunately, that ominous trend continued last night.

However, this time, it could come back to haunt Inter amid a relentless Serie A title race.

Indeed, dropping to the knockout playoff would put more squeeze on Inter’s fixture schedule ahead of February’s Milan derby.
