Inter pressed pause on Bosman signings for a couple of years to keep their payroll and ancillary costs in check and rejuvenate their squad. However, they resumed such a practice last summer, bringing in John Stones, and they are tracking a few targets for the future, TuttoSport informs.
The Nerazzurri are keeping tabs on Frank Zambo Anguissa, whose Napoli contract will expire in June and whose relationship with his current team has soured. The latest requests by the player have been seen almost as a provocation. He’s asking for €6M annually.
Napoli are also monitoring another Partenopei player, Alex Meret. He’s been the starter when healthy under Massimiliano Allegri. He’s never signed a long-term deal since he’s been in Campania. His renewals have always been finalized very late in the game.
The Nerazzurri are keen on another goalie as well, River Plate’s Santiago Beltran. He has an Italian passport, and his contract runs out in December already. He has conceded 34 goals and kept 15 clean sheets in 39 appearances with River Plate. The youngster debuted with Argentina in June.
The Scudetto champions have shortlisted Crystal Palace’s Chris Richards in the back. They could be interested in a reunion with Mateo Kovacic.
It’d be silly not to use this instrument when players are letting their contracts expire more and more these days, even if it is not as cheap as the lack of a fee would suggest. With Henrikh Mkhitaryan on his last legs and Hakan Calhanoglu facing an uncertain future, the addition of a veteran midfielder to have a mix of youth and experience is pretty likely. Instead, it’s not great for Josep Martinez that they are already looking at some other goalkeepers.
