Violence doesn’t appear out of nowhere. Often, it starts with words. For the International Day of the Elimination of Violence against Women, FC Internazionale Milano presents a piece of content named “Stop Locker Room Talk”, dedicated to the responsibility of language and the role it plays in the construction - or normalisation - of violent behaviour. The locker room becomes a powerful metaphor, a symbolic space where certain phrases are brushed off as harmless banter. Words that, in reality, carry weight, leave marks, and feed a culture of violence that is far too often ignored. With this project, Inter invites everyone to recognise that respect begins with language, with what we choose to say, and with what we choose not to accept.

The campaign has been created in collaboration with Parole O_Stili, a social awareness project focused on the use of language, which works daily to promote more conscious and responsible communication. This collaboration stems from a shared commitment to promoting a necessary cultural change. As stated in Parole O_Stili’s Non-Hostile Communication Manifesto, “We are what we communicate” – words are never just words. They create relationships, shape behaviour, and define who we are. The content published on the Club’s platforms collects phrases often dismissed as “locker-room talk”, reminding us that such expressions are never acceptable. Silence is not neutrality: it is complicity. Together, let’s train ourselves to respect others, starting with our words. Through this initiative, FC Internazionale Milano renews its commitment to promoting projects dedicated to inclusion, respect, and the fight against all forms of violence.
