On World Football Day, the second edition of which takes place on 25 May, the Club took part in the “Football For The Goals Forum - Champions for Change: Football and the UN Unite for the SDGs”. The event was organised by the UN's network to promote sustainable devel
Around 40 exports from institutions, UN organisations, government representatives, NGOs and sporting clubs met to delve deeper into and raise awareness of how football could promote sustainable growth as part of the wider 2030 agenda.
Inter was the only Italian club invited to the forum and was represented by a delegation from Inter Club. As part of the panel on Objective 5 - strengthening the drive towards gender equality - Inter Campus show how using integrated metholodogies, in which football is the central component, can increase inclusion for young girls by generating resources and challenging stereotypes and gender prejudices. The stories of various local female educators provided inspiration for the talk, because they, after their playing careers, have become leaders in their local communities and have catalysed a process of long-term resilience.
Since 1997, Inter Campus has worked on social projects in 30 countries around the world, with the support of 300 local operators, and has been part of Football For The Goals since 2022 - the year of the network's founding. In 2023, Club Vice-President Javier Zanetti joins the Circle of Supporters in a show of the value of football and sport as a whole in sharing and adopting aims for sustainable development.
This commitment was renewed by the Club for this important occasion for discourse and exchange between the various institutions and stakeholders in the game of football. After the day was done, alongside all of the other participants and the Football For The Goals board, a Declaration of Intent was drafted, in which there was an affirmation to commit to promoting the Objectives of Sustainable Development through the universal language and influence of football.
