Another step forward in Inter Women’s Coppa Italia journey: after seeing off Como 1907, the Nerazzurre claimed the first leg of the quarter-finals against Ternana, thanks to goals from Detruyer and Glionna.

It was a solid, authoritative display from Piovani’s side, who took control from the beginning at the Stadio Moreno Gubbiotti in Narni, playing with intensity and purpose and creating chances from the outset. After an early Tomaselli effort was ruled out, Inter broke the deadlock in the 26th minute: Tomasevic delivered a pinpoint cross from the right, Bartoli’s header forced a save and Detruyer reacted quickest to convert the rebound for 1–0.

Inter continued to dictate the tempo, going close from distance, while Ternana struggled to threaten, with Belli proving decisive against Petrara’s lone chance of the first half. The tone remained unchanged after the break and Inter doubled their lead in the 57th minute, as Glionna took a touch inside the box and finished on the half-volley with a moment of real quality.

From there, the Nerazzurre managed their lead calmly, still creating opportunities. Ternana pushed higher up the pitch but found no way through a compact, well-organised defence. Following a series of substitutions, including the introduction of Csiszar, Inter remained dangerous on the counter, with Bugeja forcing a save from Ciccioli in the 81st minute.

Inter saw out the closing stages in control, keeping possession and pressing forward until the final whistle, sealing a convincing performance and a valuable first-leg advantage ahead of the return fixture at the Arena Civica “Gianni Brera” in seven days’ time.
