Inter flip potential Serie A shock in just minutes 🤯

Inter's dream of a third Serie A title in seven seasons has gone largely without issues so far, but the current leaders almost suffered one hell of a hiccup.

The Scudetto looks increasingly to be heading back to San Siro, currently with Cristian Chivu's champions-elect rather than neighbours Milan, who remain on their heels.

But the prospect of the Italian title being decked out in red and black briefly did not appear to be that far away as the Nerazzurri hosted Pisa in Friday's weekend opener.

Their struggling visitors sat 19th in the table ahead of kick-off but sucker-punched Chivu's side courtesy of two goals in 23 first-half minutes from Stefano Moreo.

The Milan-born striker opened the scoring with an incredible long-range effort before sealing his brace with a near-post header to convert Matteo Tramoni's delivery.

Moreo's hometown haul also recorded the first time an opposing league player had netted twice in the opening half-hour against Inter since Zlatan Ibrahimović in 2020.

However Inter flipped their deficit in double-quick time with a Piotr Zieliński penalty before Lautaro Martínez's clinical header in the box continued their comeback.

Deep into first-half added time, Pio Esposito added a third with a second headed effort from another left-sided delivery, this time made by Alessandro Bastoni.

Things didn't get any better for ex-Milan striker Alberto Gilardino, whose charges shipped more goals from Federico Dimarco, Ange-Yoan Bonny and Henrikh Mkhitaryan after the break.

Inter still had a healthy goal difference over Milan even if their rivals cut down the points gap this weekend but they staved off that threat by avoiding what would have been the shock of the season.
