Inter will invest to fortify their defense in the summer and recently had some contacts with Alejandro Camano, who represents Lautaro Martinez and Mario Gila, who’s bound to join their wish list for the position, Calciomercato informs.
The Nerazzurri aren’t on great terms with Lazio president Claudio Lotito, which complicates the negotiation. Moreover, the Biancocelesti owe 50 percent of the fee to Real Madrid. They signed the center-back for a rather low figure, €6M, in 2022, when he was relatively unknown, but agreed to a substantial resale clause.
Considering those two aspects, Gila could be more expensive than the other Inter targets for the role, for instance, Sam Beukema, Jhon Lucumi, and Oumar Solet. They might bring in more than one, depending on what they decide to do with Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi. In addition, Tomas Palacios’ loan spell at Monza hasn’t gone particularly well. He doesn’t seem ready to be part of their squad yet.
Furthermore, the front office is making some evaluations about Yann Aurel Bisseck. They won the gamble in that case after signing him for €7M. His price tag has multiplied by at least four times. An offer in that neighborhood will be carefully weighed to foot their reinforcement campaign without hurting the squad too much.
He’d be able to play only as a right ‘braccetto’ in their scheme, deputizing Benjamin Pavard. He’d make sense if they cashed in on the German talent, and he’d cost a lot less, which probably isn’t the case.
