Inter are reportedly monitoring the development of 19-year-old centre-back Nathan Zezé of Ligue 1 side Nantes as a potential alternative to versatile Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior.
The Nerazzurri are focussed on bringing in a new centre-back to cover for the injured Tajon Buchanen, who suffered a break to his tibia, which is expected to keep him out of action for at least three to four months.
Though Buchanen is a wing-back or winger by trade, Carlos Augusto, who often filled in at centre-back in 2023-24, is expected to revert back to his natural position slightly further up the pitch in the Canadian’s absence.
That means that a centre-back is the current priority for Inter, and though some reports suggest that the club are negotiating with former Spezia defender Kiwior, Calciomercato.com note that Zezé is also a player that interests the Nerazzurri.
Even though he made just 13 appearances in Ligue 1 last season, Zezé is considered to be one of the hottest prospects that France has to offer in terms of defenders.
Nantes are, of course, aware of their player’s potential, and therefore value him at a minimum price of €15m, according to Wednesday’s reports.
