Inter may get a crucial injury boost ahead of their third Derby della Madonnina of the season against Milan, as both Hakan Calhanoglu and Francesco Acerbi are reportedly closing in on full recovery from their injuries.
Simone Inzaghi has been forced to do without the duo in recent weeks, especially since the Turkish midfield metronome joined the centre-back on the treatment table after limping off during the first half of his side’s 3-2 defeat in the Supercoppa Italiana final against the city rivals.

That was Calhaloglu’s third seasonal injury, which kept him out of action for the following six games across Serie A and the Champions League.
However, his time on the sidelines is expected to end soon, as Sky Sport Italia reports that Inter are confident they will be able to call up both the playmaker and Acerbi for Sunday’s season-defining clash.
The defender has missed the last two months of action due to a muscular injury, leaving Stefan De Vrij as the only centre-back option for the Nerazzurri manager.

Acerbi and Calhanoglu are said to have joined the rest of the team for part of the practice on Thursday, and they are expected to carry out the full training session on Friday before being included in Simone Inzaghi’s squad.
