Inter, Juventus and Milan have the highest overall wage bill in Serie A, but Como spend more than a Bologna side in the Champions League.

Calcio e Finanza drew up a chart of the salaries paid by Serie A clubs in the 2024-25 season, pending the potential arrival of free agents like Adrien Rabiot.

The total figure for wages over the 20 clubs is €1.06 billion.

Scudetto winners Inter are top of the pile, paying out €141.7m to their players, followed by Juventus on €111.7m and Milan €104.3m.

Roma are fourth on €89.9m and Napoli come in fifth with €82.9m, despite getting Victor Osimhen off their books with the loan to Galatasaray.

There is rather a big drop-off after that, as Lazio in sixth only pay €68.2m, Fiorentina €61.6m and Atalanta €59.2m.

The surprise is Como in 10th place, as despite being a newly-promoted team from Serie B, their wage bill is €38.1m – a full €2m more than a Bologna side competing in the Champions League.

The cheapest club in Serie A is Hellas Verona, whose wages amount to a total of just €18m.

According to Capology, Manchester City have the highest wage bill in the Premier League at €241.5m gross and the lowest in the English top flight is Ipswich Town on €20.863m.

There are five clubs in the Premier League with higher wage bills than Inter: Manchester City, Chelsea €224.2m, Manchester United €213.6m, Arsenal €200.4m and Liverpool €147.5m.
