Argentine superstar Lionel Messi has reassured both his club and national team fans by rejoining full training with Inter Miami CF, just days before the kickoff of the Major League Soccer season.

The forward had suffered a hamstring injury in his left thigh during a pre-season friendly against FC Barcelona in Ecuador. That setback forced him to temporarily step away from team sessions.

His absence had sparked concern among supporters, especially with the 2026 FIFA World Cup looming next summer.

Messi back on the pitch

According to Spanish daily Marca, the Albiceleste captain resumed normal training on February 18 and looked in fine physical shape—contrary to initial estimates that suggested a layoff of at least two weeks.

The coaching staff, led by Javier Mascherano, have yet to confirm his participation in the season opener against Los Angeles on February 21. The final decision will come after one last assessment of his fitness.
