Inter Milan midfielder Petar Sucic delivered an impressive performance in last night’s Champions League clash against Arsenal.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Croatian star seized the opportunity presented by Hakan Calhanoglu’s absence.
With the Turkish playmaker injured, Cristian Chivu chose to hand the 22-year-old his second Champions League start ahead of Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Though it seemed like a gamble, Petar Sucic repaid the manager’s trust.
In addition to scoring a superb equalizer in the first half, the former Dinamo Zagreb ace produced a commanding all-round display.

Sucic’s screamer was in vain as Arsenal grabbed a comfortable 3-1 victory at San Siro.
However, the young midfielder’s performance can encourage Chivu ahead of a brutal fixture schedule, especially now that he cannot call upon Calhanoglu.
On the other hand, Yann Sommer was one of the architects of Inter’s collapse.
Indeed, he should have come out to prevent the ball from reaching Gabriel Jesus for Arsenal’s second goal.
Moreover, he made a feeble attempt to thwart Viktor Gyokeres’ mid-range shot, which put the game to bed.
