Davide Frattesi and Matteo Cocchi fell short of expectations in last night’s Coppa Italia quarter-final tie between Inter Milan and Torino.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Italian midfielder delivered another bleak performance amid a rough patch.

Despite being given a rare chance to start, Davide Frattesi failed to seize the opportunity.

Indeed, the 26-year-old struggled to find his rhythm in the middle of the park, often losing possession way too cheaply.

Furthermore, his trademark runs between the lines were nowhere to be seen.

In addition to Frattesi, Matteo Cocchi failed to rise to the occasion in his maiden senior start for the club.

Deployed on the left wing at the expense of Federico Dimarco, Cocchi lacked precision and confidence when moving forward.

Perhaps surprisingly, second-half substitute Petar Sucic joined this category.

In the meantime, goalscorer Andy Diouf was outstanding in the middle of pitch.

Apart from the goal, the French star emerged as the beating heart of Inter’s engine room in the absence of first-team stalwarts.
