Inter Milan newcomer Petar Sucic got off the mark in Serie A as the Nerazzurri trounced out-of-sorts Fiorentina 3-0 on Wednesday night.

Speaking to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the young midfielder refused to hide his excitement for scoring his first goal for Inter.

Despite a morale-wracking 3-1 defeat at Napoli last weekend, Inter delivered another standout performance at San Siro.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri tore Fiorentina apart in both halves, even though they couldn’t score before halftime.

Veteran goalkeeper David de Gea was unbeatable in the first half, making two fabulous saves to help La Viola stay in the game.

However, it was only a matter of time before Inter would find a well-deserved opener as they had their visitors on the ropes.

Star midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu provided a moment of brilliance just after the hour mark, drawing first blood with a thunderous strike.

Then, Petar Sucic stole the spotlight, netting his first-ever Nerazzurri goal in style.

The 21-year-old shrugged off Rolando Mandragora before making light work of Pietro Comuzzo and finishing with aplomb.

Finally, Calhanoglu landed a knockout blow on the out-of-sorts Tuscan side from the spot, capping off a dream night for Inter.

Sucic’s last Serie A start before tonight came in a 2-1 home win over Sassuolo in mid-September.

However, after losing Henrikh Mkhitaryan to injury against Napoli, Cristian Chivu gave Sucic a chance to prove his worth.

And the former Dinamo Zagreb starlet refused to let his coach down.

“It was really great,” Sucic admitted. “I’m very happy to have scored my first goal.

“I’ve worked hard for this, but the most important thing today was to win the match.

“So I’m happy about the goal, but the victory matters more.”
