Despite failing to score, Marcus Thuram played a crucial role in Inter’s dominant home win over the Czech champions.

Indeed, the French center-forward set up Denzel Dumfries for the second goal on the stroke of halftime.

Meanwhile, Thuram’s partner in crime, Lautaro Martinez, notched up a double on his European debut this season.

El Toro netted on either side of halftime, maintaining his brutal form from last season.

However, Thuram reportedly picked up an injury during the Argentine’s second goal.

The 28-year-old released Alessandro Bastoni in space with a delightful backheel pass in the build-up.

And that’s when he felt a twinge. However, it’s nothing serious, at least according to the player himself.

“I’m fine, I think it’s minor. I don’t think it’s very serious,” Thuram reassured.

Then, the ex-Borussia Monchengladbach forward hailed Inter’s improvement in recent weeks.

“Yes, yes, that’s true,” Thuram added. “In the Champions League, it’s always tough, even against teams people call ‘easy.’

“We had to be serious and deliver the performance we did tonight.”

Indeed, Inter looked in good shape this evening.

“Yes, that’s true. The important thing is not to concede because then we can always score.

“We’re finding balance every week in Appiano, and we hope to keep improving.”

Finally, Thuram refused to give predictions regarding Inter’s chances of reaching another Champions League final.

“I take it game by game, then we’ll see. It’s a long journey; we’re only in September.”

Meanwhile, Inter will return to action this weekend with a must-win home game against Serie A newcomers Cremonese.
