Chivu’s side defied the absence of star performers Lautaro Martinez and Alessandro Bastoni to secure a place in the Coppa Italia final for the first time since 2023.

Furthermore, the Nerazzurri had to overcome a two-goal deficit to beat Como in the second leg of their breathtaking semi-final tie.

Indeed, Cesc Fabregas’ side went 2-0 up in the 48th minute, when Lucas Da Cunha took advantage of Piotr Zielinski’s huge mistake.

However, Hakan Calhanoglu scored a decisive brace to bring the San Siro giants back to square one.

Then, he set up Sucic for a late winner, as Inter pulled off another incredible comeback against the Lariani.

Therefore, Chivu’s dream of winning a domestic double in his first season in charge of the club remains firmly on track.

Petar Sucic Refuses to Discuss Halftime Talk After Inter Milan 3-2 Como Victory

Sucic, who came off the bench at the expense of Zielinski in the 60th minute, scored his first goal for the club since January.

“It’s not easy when you go two goals down, but we showed our mentality,” Sucic said after the match. “We’re a good team and we’re happy to be in the final.”

When asked about Chivu’s halftime speech, the former Dinamo Zagreb star refused to reveal the details: “What happens in the dressing room must stay there.

“We have great quality – we just needed to play faster and with more aggression.”

Finally, he addressed his on-field understanding with Calhanoglu and other teammates.

“I don’t know what to say,” Sucic added. “I play for Inter. And I always have to be ready to help the team, and I’m happy because we’ve reached the final.”
