Piotr Zielinski proved decisive as Inter Milan defeated Juventus 3-2 in a thrilling Derby d’Italia at San Siro.

The Polish midfielder struck in the 90th minute to seal the win and earned Player of the Match honours.

Speaking to Sky Sport after the final whistle, Zielinski underlined the collective effort behind the result.

“It’s certainly my most important goal of the season,” he said. “But the whole team worked hard. Let’s enjoy this victory because it means so much.”

Inter had conceded shortly after going 2-1 up, and Zielinski admitted the team must manage those moments better.

“We have to avoid situations like that,” he explained. “We must improve certain things. We lacked concentration after Pio’s goal and should have managed the game better. But we won, and that was what mattered.”

The late winner lifted a weight off Inter’s shoulders, especially after criticism in previous big matches.

“We wanted to win. Juventus are a great team, but in other games we’ve also shown that we are strong. Let’s enjoy it because we beat a great Juve.”

Speaking to DAZN on the pitch, Zielinski added a personal note.

“I’m happy we brought joy to the Nerazzurri couples, today they couldn’t go out with their girlfriends or wives on Valentine’s Day,” he joked. “I dedicate the goal to my wife. She asked me to score today, and I’m happy I did.”

Zielinski had already scored against Juventus in the past, but this strike carried special weight.

“The goal is very important and the points are fundamental. Let’s enjoy this evening because we were great.”

His late intervention could prove pivotal in the Serie A title race, and it ensured this Derby d’Italia will be remembered for a long time.
