Inter Milan star Marcus Thuram hailed his side’s performance in a landslide 5-1 victory over Venezia in the Coppa Italia.
Speaking to Sport Mediaset via FCInterNews, the Frenchman praised the entire Nerazzurri squad.
Fresh off a 2-0 league win over Pisa, Inter started their 2025/26 Coppa Italia journey against the only remaining lower-league side in the competition.
Despite Venezia’s resilient performance against Hellas Verona in the previous round, they stood no chance at San Siro.
Indeed, Cristian Chivu’s side ran riot tonight, with Andy Diouf scoring his first goal for the Nerazzurri to break the deadlock.
Then, Francesco Pio Esposito doubled Inter’s lead with his maiden goal at San Siro for the club.
However, Thuram stole the show, netting on either side of halftime on his way to halting an exhausting scoring drought.
The 28-year-old last scored in mid-September before slumping to a hamstring injury against Slavia Prague.
Yet, the former Borussia Monchengladbach star is back with a bang.

“Beyond the goals, the important thing was our attitude,” Thuram said after the game. “We played a serious match.”
Furthermore, he waxed lyrical about every teammate after Inter’s most dominant victory under Chivu.
“We are 23–24 high-level players, and even the youngsters who train with us can give us a great hand.”
Finally, he confirmed Inter’s ambition to lift the Coppa Italia trophy this season.
“We play every competition aiming to go as far as possible, then we’ll see.”
Inter cannot afford to celebrate too much as they face Serie A surprise package Como next weekend.
Encouragingly, Chivu’s side returned to winning ways in the league after a dismal defeat in the Milan derby.
Indeed, the Nerazzurri squeezed past newly promoted Pisa last weekend, maintaining a one-point deficit to pacesetters AC Milan.
