Inter Milan have reached an agreement to sign England international Djed Spence from Tottenham Hotspur.
According to transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano, the Serie A champions will pay £26.5 million for the versatile full-back.
Spence has an agreement in place on personal terms with the Nerazzurri.
He has been signed after an impressive FIFA World Cup campaign, where he was one of England’s best performers at the tournament.
Spence showcased his versatility, featuring in both full-back positions for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
Inter turned to the 26-year-old after they failed to sign Marco Palestra. They were in the market for a replacement for Denzel Dumfries after his move to Real Madrid.
The Serie A champions reached an agreement with Union Saint-Gilloise for Anan Khalaili, but the transfer fell through.
Spence was keen to return to Italy, where he previously spent time on loan at Genoa.
With manager Roberto De Zerbi preferring Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro as his starting full-backs, Spence would have struggled for game time.
He will become the second Englishman to join Inter this summer, with John Stones previously moving there for free.
Middlesbrough will benefit from the deal. They included a sell-on clause in the deal that took Spence to Tottenham in 2022.
Boro are in line to receive 15 percent of any profit having already benefited from several add-ons in a deal that totalled around £20m.
