Inter Milan wingback Carlos Augusto has become famous for his ability to cover multiple positions in defense and midfield.
Speaking to CBF TV via FCInterNews, the 26-year-old delivered verdict on his versatility.
Carlos Augusto has gained recognition for his ability to play anywhere down the left flank.
Furthermore, the Brazilian star has often excelled as a center-back in Inter Milan’s 3-5-2 formation.
However, he has had to settle for a substitute role more often than not.
With Federico Dimarco nailing down the starting berth as his own, Augusto has frequently played second fiddle to the Italian ace.
Moreover, Augusto has gotten used to deputizing for Alessandro Bastoni at the back.
Despite his limited playing time at San Siro, the Corinthians academy graduate has returned to Brazil’s national team.
Indeed, he will be part of Carlo Ancelotti’s side that will face South Korea and Japan in international friendlies this month.

“My position is difficult to find, here and worldwide, and we have many quality players,” Carlos Augusto said. “I believe competition is good for everyone.
“By increasing competition among us, it’s better for the national team and for ourselves if we give our best.
“Being versatile helps me a lot at Inter.
“Playing more than one role gives me more opportunities and possibilities both in the national team and at the club.
“It’s a positive thing, and I’ve trained hard to be able to perform well in both roles.”
Meanwhile, Augusto has not played for his national team for two years.
Indeed, Fernando Diniz was the last Brazilian head coach to include the ex-Monza star in his squad.
However, Ancelotti has handed Augusto a well-deserved call-up this month.
“Of course, it’s every player’s dream to always represent our national team,” Augusto admitted. “In the end I got there with him.
“Then I was away for a year and a half, and I’ve been working hard to keep being called up.
“And it’s fantastic to have that trust; I think it’s the result of hard work.
“Therefore, I always hope to give my best at the club and in my daily life here to represent our country in the best possible way.”
