Inter Milan’s trip to face Como offers more than just a crucial test in the league table, it presents a fascinating duel in the dugout between Chivu and Fabregas.
Cristian Chivu faces Cesc Fabregas, the man who, for a moment, looked likely to become the next Inter coach.
The mission failed, and six months later Fabregas now confronts the coach who took the role instead.

Como’s rise under Fabregas has been no accident.
The Lariani have lost only once this season and sit just three points behind Inter.
They also boast Serie A’s best defensive record, with only seven goals conceded, level with Roma, and can rely on the flair of Nico Paz to provide the spark in attack.
Fabregas’s reputation has grown quickly, and this match represents another opportunity to reinforce his credentials.
Inter, for their part, have no regrets.
Chivu has steadied the team after a difficult previous campaign, clearing out the baggage and restoring a sense of direction.
The Nerazzurri still have areas to improve, particularly the head-to-head matches where defeats have cost them, but the collective progress is clear.
Tuttosport also points out that this is not the first meeting between the two coaches. On May 3, Fabregas guided Como to a 1-0 win away at Parma against Chivu.
That adds an additional layer of motivation for the Inter boss, who will see this as the perfect chance to settle that score on a much bigger stage.
